Walk out the front door, and within a few blocks you are in the heart of historic Carlisle. A leisurely stroll along Carlisle’s community sidewalks provides a glimpse at a wide variety of 18th and 19th century architecture. Carlisle is known for its heritage dating back to 1750. Both George Washington and Benjamin Franklin visited the area. Historic downtown Carlisle offers unique shopping with its multiple antique shops and a wide variety of restaurants. Carlisle is a great home base for people desiring to visit Hershey (35 miles), Gettysburg (25 miles), New York City (170 miles), Washington DC (110 miles), and Baltimore Inner Harbor (85 miles).  Day trips to Washington DC, NYC, Philadelphia, and/or Baltimore are all possible.   Carlisle is home to Dickinson College, Penn State Dickinson School of Law, the Army War College, and the US Army Heritage Center.  Everything Carlisle has to offer, from restaurants to shopping, is yours to enjoy!  Please feel free to call or email with any questions you might have.
 
Located right outside of the borough, you can do what your heart desires. There's Allenberry Dinner Theatre for a casual evening out or hiking the Appalachain Trail, skiing at Little Roundtop, fly fishing in the many creeks and springs including the famous Letort Creek, shopping at Gettysburg outlets, or just reading and relaxing.  There are endless possibilities!

Pictured above is both 558 and 560 S. Hanover St.  Present owners are Walter and Diana Brown.  When you call to reserve, you will be renting only 560 S. Hanover approximately 2500 - 3000 sq. ft.  (the left side of the 2 properties.)  The covered front and side wrapped porch let you sit and enjoy the outdoors comfortably.  In  the back fenced courtyard a stone paved patio with gas grill makes it a good place to experience breakfast, lunch or have an evening meal with friends and family.  You can listen to the fountain and swing on the porch swing adjacent to the patio.  The home is a restful and comfortable place to relax and enjoy the moment.
